Get a first-hand account of exploring Guatemala's highest volcanoes by bicycle this Thursday, November 3rd at 6:30 PM at Cripple Creek Backcountry. Fatbike athlete Liz Sampey and professional photographer Brendan James share slides and stories of their adventure last spring.
Their plan? Attempt four of the biggest and most remote volcanoes in the country in three weeks. No small feat for this self-supported duo, combining bikepacking with public transportation (aka hitching a ride on chicken buses or any vehicle going their direction) in this genuine Guatemalan "baptism by fire."
Thanks to Aloha Mountain Cyclery for putting this together. $10 will get you a burrito from Dos Gringos and a beer. So make an evening out of it and join us!
And stay tuned for future adventures with Liz and Brendan as they head to Peru mid-November combining bikepacking, mountain biking and alpine running. Our custom frame bags are joining them on this trip.
